At Genesee Country Village, authentically-dressed villagers go about their daily business, whether it be blacksmith, printer or merchant. This living history museum is an authentic expression of regional life 150 years ago. The museum is comprised of a 19th century village featuring 57 historically significant structures; the Gallery of Sporting Art offering the works of wildlife artists like Audubon and Tunnicliffe; and a 375-acre Nature Center and Wildlife Refuge. Hill Cumorah Pageant, near Palmyra, Wayne County

Performed each July on the very site where 14-year-old Joseph Smith purportedly discovered what was to become known as the Book of Mormon, the spectacular Hill Cumorah Pageant has been described as a techno-dazzling epic of ancient American inhabitants. Rochester Philharmonic, Rochester, Monroe County

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra presents a stunning array of classical, pops, opera and family concerts. The spotlight shines on local virtuosi and international guest artists alike. Winter performances are held in the spectacular Eastman School of Music's Eastman Theatre. Seabreeze Park, Rochester, Monroe County

Seabreeze Amusement Park on the edge of Irondequoit Bay is back! After losing its 1909 vintage carousel in a fire several years ago, Seabreeze has harnessed a brand new ring of galloping horses who bound over imaginary obstacles, carrying giggling riders with sticky cotton candy hands. 800-395-2500.

Seneca Park Zoo, Rochester, Monroe County

The Rocky Coasts have come to the Rochester. Seneca Park Zoo's multi-million dollar exhibit provides underwater viewing of polar bears, sea lions and penguins. The zoo is home to the state's only African elephants and Bornean orangutans, plus over 300 other inspiring animals. 585-467-9453.

Walnut Hill Driving Competition, Pittsford, Monroe County

Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition, Monroe County. Over 200 horsemen from Europe, Canada and the United States display their horses and a medley of 19th century carriages in a variety of competitions. August. 585-385-2555.
