Harvest Festivals in Western New YorkFall
festivals began as celebrations of the harvest. Neighbors gathered to help one
another make light work of picking, pickling and preserving summer's fruits against
the long winter ahead. Consequently, the bright, liquid days of autumn are conducive
to slow country cruises. Harvesting is done, and the sweaty frenzy of summertime
chores is over. It's time to kick back and be content. Western New York has festivals
