Rochester Philharmonic, Rochester, Monroe County

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra presents a stunning array of classical, pops, opera and family concerts. The spotlight shines on local virtuosi and international guest artists alike. Winter performances are held in the spectacular Eastman School of Music's Eastman Theatre. Seabreeze Park, Rochester, Monroe County

Seabreeze Amusement Park on the edge of Irondequoit Bay is back! After losing its 1909 vintage carousel in a fire several years ago, Seabreeze has harnessed a brand new ring of galloping horses who bound over imaginary obstacles, carrying giggling riders with sticky cotton candy hands. 800-395-2500.

Seneca Park Zoo, Rochester, Monroe County

The Rocky Coasts have come to the Rochester. Seneca Park Zoo's multi-million dollar exhibit provides underwater viewing of polar bears, sea lions and penguins. The zoo is home to the state's only African elephants and Bornean orangutans, plus over 300 other inspiring animals. 585-467-9453.


Shaker Festival, Sodus, Wayne County

Shakers had a number of settlements in Western New York. The first was at Sodus, Wayne County in the 1820s. The sect moved to Groveland, Livingston County, in the 1830s.
